Trader Joe's Ramen Recipe

Elaine Gordon
Ah, ramen. It’s not just food; it’s a way of life. I remember the first time I tasted a good bowl of ramen. I was in a small, bustling ramen shop, feeling the warmth and energy of the kitchen around me.

Equipment

  • Large pot

Ingredients

  • 5 Cups Water
  • 4 Trader Joe’s Miso or Spicy Miso Instant Ramen Cups
  • 2 Teaspoons Salted Butter
  • ½ Garlic clove finely minced or pressed
  • 1 Teaspoon Fresh Ginger grated
  • 1 Teaspoon Tahini
  • 1 Teaspoon Sesame Oil
  • 4 Slices of Trader Joe’s Fully Cooked Pork Belly cut into ¼-inch pieces
  • 2 Tablespoons Trader Joe's Soyaki Sauce
  • ½ Cup Frozen Corn warmed through
  • 4 Green Onions finely chopped
  • 4 Pieces of Roasted Seaweed Snacks
  • 2 Trader Joe’s Ramen Eggs

Instructions

  • Start by bringing 5 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Make sure it’s nice and bubbly! This is the magic pot where all the flavors will coexist.
  • Once the water has boiled, add the four packets from the Trader Joe's Ramen cups. While those soak up the flavor, stir gently for about 3-4 minutes, which is usually enough time for the noodles to reach that perfect al dente consistency.
  • In a separate small pan, melt 2 teaspoons of salted butter over medium heat. Add in the minced garlic and grated ginger. The wonderful aroma will start filling your kitchen, and you’ll instantly know it’s going to taste fantastic. Sauté until they turn slightly golden, but avoid burning them.
  • Once the ramen noodles are soft, add them to the cooked garlic and ginger mixture. Stir in the tahini and sesame oil. This step offers the richness and depth that turns ordinary ramen into an unforgettable experience. Make sure every noodle is coated with flavor!
  • Now, the fun part! Grab your toppings—the not-so-secret ingredients that elevate your bowl. Add the pork belly, warmed corn, and chopped green onions to the ramen. Toss in the soyaki sauce for that sweet and savory balance.
  • Finally, serve your ramen in beautiful bowls. Garnish with seaweed snacks and finish it off with a perfectly cooked ramen egg. Trust me, this is about to be a moment of pure culinary bliss!

Notes

  • Don’t Skip the Aromatics: Garlic and ginger add layers of flavor. They’re like the dynamic duo of the kitchen.
  • Customize Toppings: Feel free to swap the pork belly for tofu or grilled chicken for a different protein.
  • Balance Your Flavors: Play with salty, sweet, and umami elements. Adding a splash of chili oil can create a delightful kick.
  • Fresh Herbs are Key: Chopped cilantro or basil can add a refreshing touch to the richness of the ramen.
  • Leftover Vegetables?: Toss in whatever veggies you have on hand! Spinach, mushrooms, or bell peppers can all add color and nutrition.
