- Juice of 1 fresh lemon
- 1 –2 teaspoons zesty horseradish sauce
- Fresh chopped parsley for garnish
- 2 cloves garlic finely minced
- ½ cup classic tomato ketchup
- 1 tablespoon coarse sea salt
- 4 whole steamed Dungeness crabs approximately 2 pounds each
- 16 tablespoons 1 cup or 2 sticks salted creamery butter
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay-style seafood seasoning
- Slices of lemon and lime for serving
Step 2: Steam the Crab
In a large pot with a steaming basket, bring water to a boil. Place the crabs inside, cover, and steam for about 15-20 minutes. They’re done when they turn a bright orange. The aroma is almost too much to handle!
Step 3: Make the Dipping Sauce
In a separate saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. To it, add minced garlic and sauté until golden. Take it off the heat and mix in lemon juice, paprika, horseradish, and Old Bay seasoning. This sauce is what dreams are made of.
